Detian Waterfall is located in Detian Village, Shuolong Town, Daxin County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the upper reaches of the Guichun River on the border between China and Vietnam. The waterfall is majestic and spectacular. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. It is a national 5A tourist attraction in China. The average annual water flow is about three times that of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou. It has been the filming location of many movies and TV shows.
China and Vietnam use the Guichun River, which is 14.5 kilometers from Detian Waterfall to Shuolong Town, as the natural border. The Guichun River passes through Detian Village in Daxin County and is blocked by Putang Island in the middle of the river. This causes the river to roar against the rocks, rush down the road, and fall off the cliff to form a three-level waterfall with different heights. After a detour of 35 kilometers, we returned to Detian Village in Shuolong Town. "Returning to the country and meeting spring" is the beautiful meaning given to it by the local villagers.
The waterfall is about 120 meters wide, 60 meters high and 70 meters deep. The waterfall is surrounded by towering ancient trees, and 38 rapids of different sizes cascade down from different angles, forming a three-level drop. The first-level waterfall rushes through the jungle into a "Tianchi" that looks like a giant water basin, forming a semicircular water curtain about 30 meters high and 75 meters wide. Multiple water curtains rush down from the left side of Tianchi, forming a second-level waterfall with a height of about 23 meters. The third-level waterfall consists of several larger rapids that intersect with each other and flow into Longtan, a large water pool under the Guichun River that receives incoming water, forming a large waterfall about 12 meters high and 120 meters wide. Detian Waterfall is connected with Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam, like a pair of close sisters, standing hand in hand. My eyes penetrated the ethereal mist, and I suddenly saw the beautiful woman on the other side of the water, with the spring river wrapped around her waist like a jade belt, her head hanging down and her beautiful hair falling into Chao Lake, leaning against the majestic peaks and rocks, with her back against the ancient trees in the terraces of the mountains, smiling happily and expressing affection with her eyes. This is really a poetic, romantic and elegant place, with scenery at every step and affection everywhere. When people are in it, they feel like they are wandering in the middle of a painting, with no distractions. Imitating the elegance of the talented scholars of the Tang Dynasty, holding the hand of the son, forged the relationship of a hermit with a wine cup and a branch of wine. Sitting on a bamboo raft, you can feel the waterfall up close, with the sound of water, the mist rising, and the cool water droplets rushing towards your face. Sitting on the bamboo raft, you can enjoy the beautiful courtesy of nature. Very cozy and comfortable. Climbing up the steps, on the hillside, we approach the waterfall again. The river water rushes into our face, making us feel wet and refreshed.
The Detian Waterfall was jointly developed and used by China and Vietnam, providing drinking water for the people of the two countries for agricultural irrigation, and promoting the development of border economies, becoming a beautiful landscape shared peacefully by the two countries!
