The Old Town of Lijiang sits on the Lijiang Plain at an altitude of 2,400metres in the southwest of Yunnan Province, China, and ranks among China’s few surviving ancient towns. Its architecture stands out thanks to the integration of diverse cultural elements, while its ancient, sophisticated and welldesigned watersupply system still functions efficiently to this day.
